The Trickling Tap is a family run business that began to win awards within its first year of trading. They specialise in rare and interesting alcohol, plus a range of wonderful oils and balsam vinegars in their beautiful shop.
They had already decided they would sell online and had set up an eCommerce website from the off. However, the site wasn’t working for them and they only received one order all year.
A new site needed to be simple but eye catching whilst also being able to handle all the back end functions of a fully fledged online shop. It also had to be user-friendly so that the family could manage their stock and orders easily.
And because some of the drinks they sell are so rare they wanted people to be able to order online and then collect in the shop later, when the stock came in.
Using Social Media had been a part of their success and they knew they also wanted to have a blog and publish articles.
Working with the Adams family has been fantastic; they had a clear vision of what they wanted and stuck to all my deadlines for content provision etc. A rare joy!
Because the aim of the website presence was largely to sell online we put the shop on the domain and the blog behind it in a sub-domain. The shop and blog link to each other and the simple design is reflected across both.
Within the first month of the site going live they were receiving orders. The family have been able to add their products to the site, offer discounts and sell gift vouchers.
Using the blog they have been able to promote the shop and also the popular tasting evenings they run. Moving forward we will be working on creating a regular newsletter as the business gains a following of loyal fans and customers.
They also have some very exciting plans for expansion this year.
